Mexican Fire Opal Ring
Mexican Fire Opal Ring
About the Piece
Fire opal is generally regarded as a stone symbolic of passionate love. Geologically it is exciting because it forms in areas with hydrothermal activity, most often volcanos.
The oval-shaped Mexican fire opal stone is unique. Because of a profound love for it, many of Joseph's most unique pieces are made from opal, having been cut from a raw state in the studio. This piece beautifully displays the whole story of an opel: the transparent luminescent oranges, yellows and greens of the fire opal silica situated in the opaque pinkish matrix in which formed over millions of years. With a smooth glassy surface, the stone measures 1" long & 5/8" wide and is set in 14k gold on a sterling silver Groovy Band that fits a size 7.5 finger.
This ring is one-of-a-kind. If you require a different ring size than that which is listed here, we are happy to have it resized by Jamie Joseph's studio for a fee of $85. To do this, please also purchase a ring resize and be sure to "add an order note" during checkout stating the desired size.
To ensure proper care of a new Jamie Joseph piece, she recommends avoiding the 5 S's- Sleep, Shower, Sprays, Swimming and Sweat. To clean your jewelry you can use a non-abrasive polishing cloth on the stone and metal.
