A trained bench jeweler, designer, and longtime NYC resident, Maura Green’s obsession with jewelry and adornment began at an early age. While “antiquing” with her father on Sundays during her childhood, Maura found herself drawn to the sparkly odds and ends in the jewelry display cases. She fell in love with the transformational aspect of jewelry, how it acts upon and activates the body of each wearer. The jewelry she creates today is inspired heavily still by days gone by; the Victorian sentimentality of the late 1800s, as well as the clean modern lines of Deco jewelry from the 1940s. 

Green creates her pieces “to endure, transcend, celebrate, remember, protect, and to shine.” She uses natural materials such as gold, silver, stone and mother-of-pearl shell to create her pieces. Talismans all, she has her own inspiration when it comes to creating each piece, but believes it is the wearer’s own intention and perspective that activates a piece and brings it to meaningful life.
