Bronze coin in 24k gold plated silver pendant hanging 2” long and 1.5” across.

This coin was issued during the time of The Crusades, a series of military expeditions that began in 1095 AD and continued on and off until the 14th century. Over twenty “official” Crusades were launched, with varying degrees of success, with the goal of recapturing Jerusalem and the Holy Land from Muslim rule in response to a call from the Eastern Orthodox Byzantine Empire.
