As the daughter of a geologist, Ria Charisse grew up looking closely at fossils and rock formations. As an adult, her fascination with natural history continues and her childhood rock collection has evolved into the current palette of precious and semi-precious stones with which she works to create unique, handmade stone jewelry. After years of working as a sculptor and receiving an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, her aesthetic remains centered on the organic with a line that often draws directly from natural forms.
