A stunning collection of photographs by Oregon based artist Bruce Wolf of the dead animals left on his doorstep by the 33 stray cats he and his family care for. Modeled on the Victorian fetish of preserving the memory of deceased relatives by photgraphing them in realistic poses, Death by Cat is inspired by the Victorian book, Sleeping Beauties, in which cadavers are depicted on their death beds. States Wolf, "Corpses were posed to be as lifelike as possible and even restored when they died from a ciolent act or accident. Of course the success of these photographic restorations varied considerably, but the images are very powerful."
